Frequently Asked Questions

Nobody here sends faxes anymore, so why does the black cartridge drain faster than our print volume explains?

Incoming faxes. Every received fax prints automatically, and junk faxes — the overnight loan offers and fake invoices — print on your toner just as faithfully as real ones. They arrive while the office is empty, so nobody connects the morning's mysterious stack of paper with a shrinking black level. The black 006R01395 in your WorkCentre 7435 RX feeds copies, prints and every one of those faxes from the same fill rated near 25,000 pages.

Can we receive faxes without printing them?

Most offices can. Fax-to-email or a secure fax preview setting holds incoming pages digitally so only the ones worth paper ever print; check your machine's fax settings or ask your IT help to enable it. That single change can delete a whole category of invisible toner use, and legitimate faxes stay retrievable. The color cartridges — cyan 006R01398, magenta 006R01397, yellow 006R01396, near 15,000 pages each — are untouched by faxing either way, since received faxes render in black only.

Do outbound faxes use toner too?

Only the cover sheet or confirmation page you choose to print. The scan-and-send itself uses no toner — the document feeder just reads the pages. So the drain is one-directional: what others send you costs toner, what you send costs nearly none. Offices surprised by black consumption should audit the receive side first.

We need a paper trail for compliance. Is digital fax reception still an option?

Yes, and often a better one. Digitally held faxes are timestamped, searchable and archivable — a stronger trail than a stack of curled pages by the machine. Print only the pages an auditor actually requests. Many regulated offices adopt preview-first faxing precisely because it satisfies record rules while cutting supply use to a fraction.

How much difference can this set's ratings make once junk faxes are stopped?

The ratings assume pages you meant to print. Stopping automatic junk printing means the black cartridge's roughly 25,000 pages, and the colors' roughly 15,000 each, go toward real work instead of overnight spam. The set costs $132.31, and orders ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses — but the cheapest toner is always the page you never had to produce.

What if black still drains quickly after fax settings are fixed?

Call us Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Bring the machine's page counters for prints, copies and faxes if the panel reports them separately; the split usually reveals the remaining drain in one look. And if a cartridge is genuinely underperforming, the one-year warranty and a year of free returns — see the shipping and returns page — have you covered.

About This WorkCentre 7435 RX Toner Set

The WorkCentre 7435 RX draws all of its work — prints, copies and received faxes alike — from the four cartridges in this set: black 006R01395 near 25,000 pages, plus cyan 006R01398, magenta 006R01397 and yellow 006R01396 near 15,000 pages each, $132.31 for the bundle. On a multifunction Xerox machine, toner accounting has to count every function, and the fax line is the one offices forget. Load this set, switch fax reception to preview-first, and the levels on the panel finally match the work you remember doing.
