Frequently Asked Questions

Why has one color on our 7428 FBX run out long before the other three?

Because your documents are not neutral. An office whose reports lean on blue charts drinks cyan; one printing warning notices and highlighted forms drinks yellow. The four cartridges are rated the same way — 15,000 pages for each color — but they are spent by content, not by the calendar, so uneven finishing times are normal rather than a fault.

When one color is empty, do the other three cartridges have to come out too?

No. Cartridges on this platform are independent: take out the spent color, slide in its replacement from the set, and leave the others untouched. That is the everyday pattern with a four-color set — positions are serviced individually as each one reaches the end of its fill.

Which number belongs to which color in this set?

Yellow is 006R01396, magenta is 006R01397, cyan is 006R01398 and black is 006R01395. When a single color needs replacing on your WorkCentre 7428 FBX, match the label of the cartridge you pulled out with the same number in the set and the swap cannot go wrong.

Does uneven color use harm the machine or the remaining cartridges?

It does not. A color sitting at half capacity while its neighbour is replaced is simply a cartridge with life left in it. There is no requirement for the four to age in step, and replacing one at a time does not disturb the calibration of the others.

If our color use is lopsided, is a full set still a sensible purchase?

Usually, yes. Even the fastest-draining color takes a long while to finish a 15,000-page rating, and the set guarantees that when any color does give out, the right cartridge is already on site. The black, rated at 25,000 pages, anchors the set for text-heavy periods in between color jobs.

What cover and delivery arrangements apply to this set?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns stand behind every set, with details on our shipping and returns page. Orders are sent from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the rest of the Xerox range is collected on the brand page.

About This Xerox WorkCentre 7428 FBX 4 Color Set

For $132.31, this set supplies the WorkCentre 7428 FBX with black 006R01395 (25,000-page rating) and one cartridge each of cyan 006R01398, magenta 006R01397 and yellow 006R01396 (15,000-page ratings). Because each color is consumed at its own pace by real-world documents, the set is designed to be drawn on one cartridge at a time — whichever slot empties first, its replacement is already in the cupboard.
