Frequently Asked Questions

Why refresh the whole toner group at once instead of replacing cartridges one by one?

On a Phaser 7400 that has been in service for years, the four positions rarely age in step — one was changed in spring, another last winter, and the levels end up scattered. Fitting a complete set returns every position to full on the same day, so from then on the levels fall together and one look at the gauge tells you the state of the whole machine. Restocking becomes a single planned order instead of four separate surprises.

Why do the color cartridges carry higher ratings than the black one in this set?

It is the reverse of the usual office pattern, and it reflects what the 7400 was built for. The black 106R01080 is rated at up to 15,000 pages, while the cyan 106R01077, magenta 106R01078 and yellow 106R01079 are each rated at up to 18,000 pages — this is a production color machine, and its colors are sized for long runs of graphics, charts and full-page imagery. All four figures come from the standard 5% coverage test, so heavy color coverage works through them faster in real use.

What exactly does the box contain?

Four high-yield cartridges, one for each position: 106R01080 for black, 106R01077 for cyan, 106R01078 for magenta and 106R01079 for yellow. Together they are the complete toner load for the printer, and they can go in as a group or be drawn on individually as each position asks.

Which printers does this set fit?

The whole Phaser 7400 platform: the Phaser 7400, Phaser 7400DFX, Phaser 7400DN, Phaser 7400DT and Phaser 7400DX, along with the finisher-equipped DXF configuration. The suffix letters describe paper handling, trays and finishing — the toner fitting is the same across all of them.

What happens when one color runs out in the middle of a job?

The machine flags the empty position and color printing pauses until that cartridge is changed, because a color page needs all four toners working. The swap itself takes a couple of minutes, and the other three cartridges stay exactly where they are — nothing about a single empty position forces you to touch the rest of the set.

What cover comes with the set, and how is it delivered?

Every set is backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with the full terms on our shipping and returns page. Orders leave from whichever of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses is closest to you, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you want a hand confirming fitment.
