Frequently Asked Questions

This listing says "Premium Quality" — what am I actually buying?

Five compatible 106R01530 black toner cartridges for the WorkCentre 3550 platform, each rated at 11,000 pages. We want to be straight with you about the listing name: this five-pack is priced at $271.16, exactly the same as our standard 106R01530 five-pack, and the cartridges carry the same yield rating and the same warranty. Whichever listing you order from, you are buying the same cartridge at the same price — there is no hidden upgrade and no hidden difference.

What is the cost per cartridge and per page?

The pack works out to roughly $54.23 per cartridge, against $69.02 bought singly, and about 0.49 cents per page across the pack's 55,000 rated pages. Buying five singles separately would total $345.10, so the pack saves $73.94. Those figures are based on the rated yield at standard 5% coverage, the same basis every cartridge in this class uses.

How long might five cartridges last us?

It depends on volume. At 1,000 pages a month, 55,000 pages is over four years of supply. At 2,500 pages a month it is roughly 22 months, and a department printing 5,000 pages a month will work through the pack in about 11 months. If your machine is shared by a whole team, measuring a month of page counts is the quickest way to place yourself on that scale.

Which printers are these cartridges for?

All five are 106R01530 cartridges, made for the WorkCentre 3550, WorkCentre 3550X, WorkCentre 3550XM and WorkCentre 3550YX. One cartridge type covers the entire platform, so a bulk pack can feed more than one machine.

Should I open all five cartridges when they arrive?

No — install one and leave the other four sealed. An opened cartridge sitting on a shelf is exposed to light and air for no benefit, while a sealed one stores well in a cool, dry place. Work through the pack one cartridge at a time, oldest first.

What happens if a cartridge disappoints?

Each cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a faulty unit in a bulk pack is not your problem to absorb. You will find the full terms on our shipping and returns page, and support is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
