Frequently Asked Questions

Five cartridges for an ML-1865W that prints daily — sensible planning or overkill?

Sensible, if the printing is genuinely daily. Five cartridges total 7,500 pages; a machine putting out 50 pages a day finishes one cartridge a month, so the pack is a five-month supply, not a lifetime hoard. For a printer used a few times a week, a single cartridge or a smaller pack is the more balanced buy — the pack earns its shelf space through turnover.

What does the pack pricing do per cartridge?

It cuts the unit price from $39.58 to $24.79 — $123.96 for the box against $197.90 for five singles, saving $73.94. In page terms, toner drops from roughly 2.64 cents to about 1.65 cents for every page the ML-1865W prints from the pack.

Can this pack be shared with a second printer in the house?

Yes, provided the second machine is in the same cartridge family — an ML-1860 in a study or an SCX-3201 by the phone, for example. The cartridges are identical MLT-D104S units, so the box becomes one household pool and whichever printer fades first draws the next one.

How do we store five cartridges so the last is as good as the first?

Keep them sealed in their packaging, lying flat, in a cool dry cupboard away from sunlight and heat. Open one at a time, only when a printer needs it, and use them in order. Toner kept that way holds its quality across the whole life of the pack.

Which printers take cartridges from this pack?

The MLT-D104S range: ML-1660, ML-1661, ML-1665, ML-1675 and ML-1676, the ML-1860, ML-1861, ML-1864, ML-1865 and ML-1866, and the SCX-3200, SCX-3200W and SCX-3201 multifunctions — see our Samsung range page for the complete list.

What protection covers the pack?

Each cartridge is covered individually by a one-year warranty and free returns for a year: a faulty unit is returned alone at no cost, and the rest of the box keeps working. The process is described on the shipping and returns page. We dispatch from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, with support Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
