Savin C9155

The Savin C9155 is the higher-spec sibling in Savin’s A3 color multifunction range, built for workgroups whose color and mono volume runs heavier than the C9145 class below it. Like the rest of its engine family it feeds on the family’s shared toner set, with black doing the majority of the work: 841284 is rated at approximately 23,000 pages, and the shared color trio — 841285 yellow, 841286 magenta, 841287 cyan — at approximately 17,000 pages each. Compatible 841284 black toner for the C9155 delivers dependable, OEM-comparable output across long print runs.

Heavier volume is an argument for the shared family, not against it. The C9155’s cartridges are the same high-turnover units stocked for a dozen related models, so supply stays simple: one well-known black, three well-known colors, and no badge-specific hunting when the machine runs dry midweek.

Which cartridge should you buy?

At C9155 volumes, treat black as a standing item: the 841284 2-pack matches the machine’s appetite, keeps a reserve on site, and prices better per cartridge than singles ordered in a hurry. Colors follow their own clocks — swap 841285, 841286 and 841287 individually as they empty, because heavy color work rarely drains the three at the same rate. The full 4-color set has a clear use case after an intense production period leaves multiple warnings lit at once; the 5-color set adds a second black for groups that want the whole cycle covered in a single delivery.

Chip, toner and everyday use

Fitting is undramatic: the C9155 reads the chip on each compatible cartridge, confirms the supply and updates its gauges without any reset procedure. Keep the cartridge level while handling it, pull the seal out in one motion, and seat the unit fully before closing up. Rated yields assume 5% coverage, so workgroups printing saturated color should expect to cycle colors sooner than the headline figures. A cartridge that fades early usually responds to removal and a few gentle rocks to level the toner inside. Keep spare stock sealed, flat and in a cool spot, and rotate boxes so none sits for years before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What toner does the Savin C9155 use?

The engine family’s four-cartridge set: 841284 black (approximately 23,000 pages), 841285 yellow, 841286 magenta and 841287 cyan (approximately 17,000 pages each). Yields are measured at the standard 5% coverage.

How is the C9155’s toner different from the C9145’s?

It isn’t. The two Savin models share the 841284-series set, so one stock of cartridges covers both machines — the C9155 simply tends to work through it faster.

Should a busy workgroup buy singles or sets?

Singles for colors, almost always: replace what emptied and nothing more. Sets make sense when several slots run low together, and the black 2-pack is the standing exception thanks to how fast black turns over.
