Cross-reference: this yellow cartridge belongs to the Type MP C5000 family — Ricoh's own yellow print cartridge for this platform is 841453 (the official color set is cyan 841455, magenta 841454 and yellow 841453). It fits the Ricoh Aficio MP C4000 and MP C5000 — the same machine platform also sold as the Savin C4040 and C5050 and the Lanier LD540C and LD550C.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our photos print with a dirty, greenish cast — could it be the yellow?

It is a strong suspect. Yellow quietly shapes skin tones, warm whites and most natural scenes. When yellow fades, whites go cool and bluish, faces look slightly green, and warm colors lose their glow — the print looks "dirty" rather than obviously missing a color. Print the machine's color test pattern: if the yellow block is pale or streaked, you have found the problem.

Why is the yellow priced a little higher than the magenta for this machine?

At $91.89 for up to 17,000 pages, this yellow runs about 0.54 cents per page — in the same band as its sibling colors for the MP C4000. Small price differences between colors happen with compatible cartridges; what matters for your budget is the per-page figure, and there the colors sit within a few hundredths of a cent of each other.

How do we know when the yellow truly needs changing?

Do not rely only on the toner gauge — it estimates from page counts. Trust the output instead: warm scenes turning cold, yellow highlights disappearing, or the "add toner" message appearing are the three reliable signs. A gentle rock of the cartridge side to side can redistribute toner and buy a few dozen extra pages in an emergency, but it is a stopgap, not a fix.

Does this yellow fit our MP C4000?

Yes — it is the yellow cartridge made for the Ricoh Aficio MP C4000 and MP C5000. These models take one cartridge per color; this listing covers yellow only, and black for the same printers is sold separately. Order the color named in the printer's message and installation is a straight swap.

What if we fit it and the cast doesn't clear?

Give it a few pages — a fresh cartridge needs a short run to settle into full density. If the cast persists, the issue sits elsewhere in the machine, and this cartridge is still covered: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with everything spelled out on our shipping & returns page.

Any storage rules for a spare yellow?

Keep it sealed, flat, and out of sunlight — yellow pigments are as light-sensitive as any toner, and heat is the real enemy of a stored cartridge. A shelf in a normal office, away from radiators and windows, is all it needs.
