Cross-reference: Black Ricoh 841284 — the Type MP C5000/C5050/LD5500C cartridge family. Ricoh's own color cartridges for this platform are cyan 841455, magenta 841454 and yellow 841453. These cartridges fit the Ricoh Aficio MP C4000 and MP C5000 — the same machine platform also sold as the Savin C4040 and C5050 and the Lanier LD540C and LD550C.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why replace all three colors at once if only one is showing empty?

Because on a working Ricoh Aficio MP C4000 or MP C5000, the other two are usually not far behind. Cyan, magenta and yellow wear down together on color work, so swapping one today often means opening the machine again in a few weeks for the next one. This set puts all three fresh cartridges — each rated at 17,000 pages — in at the same time, which also keeps your color balanced: three cartridges of the same age produce more even, predictable color than a new unit running alongside two tired ones.

What exactly is in this set — is black included?

The set is three cartridges: one cyan, one magenta and one yellow, each rated for up to 17,000 pages, so a full set covers 51,000 color pages across the three. Black is not in the box. On this platform the black cartridge is a separate, higher-yield supply rated at 23,000 pages, and it is sold on its own listing — most offices replace it on a different schedule from the colors anyway.

Which machines is this three-color set for?

This set is built for Ricoh Aficio MP C4000 and MP C5000 color multifunction machines. All three cartridges use the same cartridge design as the singles for those models, so if your machine's supply screen lists these colors individually, this is the matching trio. When in doubt, compare the codes on the cartridges you are removing with the codes on your machine's supply label.

One cartridge in the set is defective — do I have to return all three?

No. Each cartridge in the set is covered individually by our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a single bad unit is handled on its own without sending back the two that work. The full terms are on our shipping & returns page; contact us with the color that failed and we will replace that cartridge.

We do not print color every day — is a full set too much stock?

Not necessarily. Sealed toner cartridges store well for a long time in a cool, dry place out of sunlight — toner does not dry out like ink — so there is no rush to install all three the week they arrive. Many offices fit the full set at once for the color-balance benefit, but you can also install them as each old color empties. What matters is that the spares are on the shelf when the machine stops mid-job.

How quickly can I get the set, and who do I call with questions?

Orders leave from whichever of our warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is closest to you, so most offices see the set within a few business days. If you want to confirm this is the right set for your machine before ordering, our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
