Frequently Asked Questions

Am I paying extra for the words Premium Quality on this MC873DN listing?

No — and that is worth stating plainly. This Premium Quality set is $139.21, the same price as the standard MC873DN set for this family. We will not dress up a price difference that does not exist; whichever listing you order from, the four cartridges and the price are the same.

How many pages is each cartridge in the set rated for?

Up to 10,000 pages per cartridge, measured the standard industry way on pages with modest coverage. On an MC873DN handling everyday office documents, that rating is a fair guide for black; full-bleed color pages will always pull the color cartridges' real totals below the headline figure.

What are the four cartridge numbers behind this set?

The family numbers are 44844509, 44844510, 44844511 and 44844512, cited together because the set is matched as a group of four — black, cyan, magenta and yellow — rather than sold by individual color codes. If your outgoing cartridges carry numbers from this family, you are looking at the right box.

Why buy all four colors together for a networked printer?

Because on a shared MC873DN, the color that runs out is rarely the one you predicted. Holding the full set means any low-toner warning is a two-minute swap instead of a rush order, and at about $34.80 per cartridge on average, the set keeps the per-cartridge cost even across all four positions.

Which other machines use this same cartridge family?

Beyond the MC873DN, the family is listed for the Oki C831, C831dn and C831n printers and the MC873dnc multifunction, alongside the wider MC873 line. Offices running a mix of those models can standardize on this one set — just confirm the 44844509, 44844510, 44844511 and 44844512 family number on a cartridge from each machine first.

What if one cartridge in the set turns out to be a problem?

It is covered: these compatible cartridges come with a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, explained on our shipping & returns page. Orders ship from the nearest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California sites, and our support team is on hand Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central.

About This MC873DN Premium Quality Four-Color Set

The Premium Quality listing for the Oki MC873DN delivers the same four compatible cartridges — black, cyan, magenta and yellow from the 44844509 / 44844510 / 44844511 / 44844512 family, each rated at up to 10,000 pages — for the same $139.21 as the standard listing. It is a naming variant, not a price tier, and this page says so openly. For other families, browse our Okidata page.
