Frequently Asked Questions
Is one set enough to keep a hard-working C9600HDN running?
For most workgroups, yes for a good stretch: every cartridge in the box — black, cyan, magenta and yellow — is rated at up to 15,000 pages. On a machine that prints all day, the practical move is to track which color drops first (usually black) and reorder while the others still have life, rather than waiting for an empty slot to stop a job.
What does color printing on this set work out to per page?
Spreading the $292.17 set price across the 15,000-page rating gives roughly 1.95 cents of toner per page. That is the figure to budget with for full-color work on the C9600HDN; pages that are mostly black text draw on a single cartridge and cost less in toner terms.
What is inside the box?
Four individually sealed cartridges from the 42918901, 42918902, 42918903 and 42918904 family — one black and one each of cyan, magenta and yellow. Nothing else is needed; the set is the complete toner side of the printer.
Which printers share this cartridge family?
The Oki C9600hdn, C9600hn and C9600n take it, and so does the C9800hdn, which is handy if your office runs more than one of these machines. A quick match of the number on the cartridge you remove — 42918901, 42918902, 42918903 or 42918904 — confirms it.
Should I change all four cartridges together or one at a time?
One at a time is fine and usually smarter on a busy machine: you use up every cartridge fully instead of discarding three part-used ones. The exception is color-critical work, where a complete fresh set keeps the four colors balanced with each other.
What protection covers the set?
These compatible cartridges carry a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, spelled out in our shipping & returns policy. Shipments come from the nearest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, and you can reach support Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central.
