Frequently Asked Questions
This listing says "Premium Quality" but costs $382.03 — exactly what the standard 331-9805 5-packs cost. What is the difference?
On the evidence of the numbers, none that we can point to — and we will not invent one. This pack and the standard 331-9805 5-pack listings offer the same compatible cartridge: part number 331-9805, rated at 8,500 pages per cartridge, five in the pack, the same $382.03 total, and the same 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns behind every unit. "Premium Quality" is wording in this listing's name; it does not correspond to a higher page rating, a different specification or longer cover that we can show you. Buy on the figures, whichever of the listings you order through.
So which figures should decide it?
These: five cartridges at 8,500 pages each is 42,500 pages. At $382.03 that works out to $76.41 per cartridge and about 0.90 cents per page. The same cartridge bought singly is $91.20 and roughly 1.07 cents per page, so five singles would run $456.00 — the pack saves $73.97. Part number, yield, price per cartridge, cost per page and warranty: that is the whole honest comparison, here and on any toner listing.
Why is this listing named by part number instead of by a printer model?
Because plenty of buyers order by part number. A stores system, a service contract or a reorder label usually says 331-9805, not the name of one machine — and since this single cartridge serves the Dell Laser B2360d, B2360dn, B3460dn and B3465dn, the part number is the one label that covers the whole family. If your paperwork says 331-9805, this pack matches it, regardless of which of those models sits on your floor.
Is the cartridge in this pack the same one sold under the model-named listings?
Yes. The B2360, B2360D, B3460 and B3465 listings and this part-number listing all describe the compatible 331-9805: same rating of 8,500 pages, same pack price of $382.03 for five, same terms. The listings exist because people search by different names; the box that arrives holds the same cartridge either way.
How is a 5-pack like this typically used?
As pooled stock. Five cartridges sit sealed in the store room and are drawn as machines call for them, oldest first, with the delivery date noted on the box. At 42,500 pages in total, one order covers a small fleet for many months, and because all four models in the family take the same unit, there is no sorting spares by machine.
What protection comes with the order?
Each cartridge is covered individually by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — the details are set out on our shipping and returns page. Orders are dispatched from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. If the two listings — this one and the standard one — have you second-guessing, ring us: the answer is that they are the same cartridge at the same price.
