Frequently Asked Questions

Who buys MICR toner five cartridges at a time?

Offices with steady, recurring check volume — rent checks every month, vendor runs every week. This pack holds five sealed CF280X MICR cartridges rated at 6,900 pages apiece, for $89.01, so purchasing happens once and the shelf carries the operation for months.

What exactly is MICR toner doing on a check?

The bottom line of a check — bank routing number, account number, check number — is printed in magnetic toner so sorting machines can read it at speed. This 80X-MICR fill lays down that readable line; plain toner produces the same shapes but the machines cannot sense them.

How do we keep five cartridges straight in the store cupboard?

Keep them sealed, flat and dated, and pull them oldest-first. Label the shelf MICR so nobody grabs one for the general office printer — and so the plain cartridges never wander into the check printer, which is the mix-up that actually costs money.

Can you promise these checks will scan at our bank?

We cannot promise bank acceptance — that judgment belongs to your bank and is made on the printed check. The sensible routine: test-print a few checks from the first cartridge, confirm them with the bank, and the remaining four cartridges follow a proven setup.

Is a five-pack sensible if our check volume is modest?

Only if modest still means regular. Sealed cartridges store well, but if you print a dozen checks a month a smaller pack keeps fresher stock in rotation. This format rewards a genuine rhythm of check runs.

What backing covers all five?

Every cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. Human support is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.
