Why does the product name say 80X-MICR instead of just 80X?
Because the fill is different. The cartridge shell is the familiar CF280X (80X) unit, but the toner inside is MICR — magnetic — toner, made so the coded line at the foot of a check can be read by bank machinery. A plain 80X cartridge cannot do that job, however dark its print looks.
I am buying MICR toner for the first time — what should I do first?
