Frequently Asked Questions

What do I get in this 2 pack?

Two individually sealed CF280X MICR cartridges, each carrying magnetic toner and each rated at 6,900 pages. One goes into the check printer now; the second stays sealed on the shelf as the payroll-day insurance policy. The pair costs $46.69.

Why keep a spare MICR cartridge instead of reordering when one runs out?

Because checks rarely wait. A cartridge that fades on the morning of a pay run leaves you choosing between late checks and a rush order. A sealed spare on the shelf means the swap takes two minutes and the run goes out on schedule.

Is the toner in both cartridges really MICR?

Yes — both units in this pack are MICR fills of the 80X cartridge, made for the coded line at the bottom of a check. That is worth stating plainly, because the one expensive error in check printing is running checks on ordinary toner that bank readers cannot scan.

Can any seller guarantee my bank will take these checks?

No, and you should be wary of one who does. Acceptance depends on the finished check meeting your bank's checks, so run a small test batch from the first cartridge and confirm it with your bank before printing a full run.

How should I store the unopened cartridge?

Flat, sealed, at room temperature, away from direct sun and heaters. MICR toner keeps its properties in the sealed bag for a long shelf life; open it only when the printer actually needs it.

What cover comes with the pack?

Both cartridges carry a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. Support from a real person runs Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.
