Frequently Asked Questions

Why did the yellow highlighting and callout boxes vanish from our documents?

Because yellow is the palest ink in the machine. A highlight fill or a pale-yellow callout box is printed with a whisper of toner to begin with, so as the 106R02227 runs low those elements do not fade gradually — they drop out entirely while the text around them still looks perfect. Vanishing highlights are this cartridge's earliest calling card.

What other colors quietly depend on the yellow cartridge?

More than most people guess. Green is yellow laid over cyan, orange is yellow laid over magenta, and golds, creams and natural skin warmth all lean on it. Lose yellow and the palette does not just lose yellow — greens turn blue, oranges turn red, and faces lose their warmth, all from one empty position.

How much printing does one cartridge hold?

The rating is up to 6,000 pages at 5% coverage. Documents heavy on charts, highlights and color fills spend it faster than plain reports do, since those elements are exactly where yellow toner goes. For mixed office output on a WorkCentre 6605N, 6,000 is the sensible planning figure.

What does it cost per page?

At $40.71 for the cartridge, the yellow in each page costs roughly 0.68 cents across the rated life — small money for the color that keeps greens green and highlights visible.

Which machines share this cartridge with the 6605N?

The WorkCentre 6605N named in this listing belongs to a family that all drinks from the same yellow supply: the WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605DN multifunctions, and the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600N, Phaser 6600DN and Phaser 6600YDN printers. One code — 106R02227 — covers them all.

What cover comes with this cartridge?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year if it disappoints. Details are posted on our shipping and returns page. We hold stock in warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
