Frequently Asked Questions

Our greens print blue and our oranges print pink — why does that point at the yellow cartridge?

Because both of those colors are built with yellow. Green is cyan laid over yellow; strip the yellow away and cyan's blue stands alone. Orange is magenta over yellow; without yellow, the magenta reads pink-red. When two seemingly unrelated colors go wrong in the same direction at the same time, the shared ingredient — yellow — is the fault, and on the WorkCentre 6605DN that ingredient is the 106R02227.

How do you confirm the diagnosis before ordering?

Print the machine's print-quality test page. It lays down a solid patch for each cartridge; if the yellow patch comes out pale, thin or streaked while its neighbors are solid, the case is closed. Thirty seconds at the panel beats swapping cartridges on a hunch.

Should the other colors be replaced at the same time?

No. Each color in this machine is its own cartridge with its own remaining life, and a healthy cyan or magenta has plenty of pages left in it. Replace the yellow that has actually run out — this listing is a single cartridge for exactly that reason — and leave the others to finish their own ratings.

How many pages does a fresh cartridge bring back?

Up to 6,000 pages at the standard 5% coverage benchmark. Photo-heavy and full-color work will spend it faster; ordinary reports and correspondence, considerably slower.

What does the replacement cost per page?

The cartridge is $40.71, which across 6,000 rated pages puts the yellow component at about 0.68 cents a page — the going rate for correct greens and oranges on this platform.

What cover does the new cartridge carry?

A 1-year warranty, plus free returns for a full year if it fails to perform. The full policy is posted on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
