Frequently Asked Questions

We copy double-sided color work all day — why does magenta give out while black keeps going?

Because the two cartridges live different lives on a 6605DN. Black mostly lays down text and line work; magenta is spent on every warm element of every color original you copy — and a duplex copy spends it on both sides of the sheet. A machine fed a steady diet of color originals will walk through the 106R02226 long before the black cartridge shows its age.

What changes on the page as magenta fades on a 6605DN?

The warm half of the spectrum goes first. Reds slide toward orange, purples lose their red component and read as plain blue, and skin tones turn grey and flat. Cool colors and black text hold up longest, which is why the fade is easy to miss until a customer-facing document exposes it.

Which machines share this cartridge?

The Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600N, Phaser 6600DN, Phaser 6600YDN, WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605DN all run the same magenta supply.

The name reads "Toner Cartridges" — is this a multipack?

No. One 106R02226 cartridge is in the box. The plural wording is inherited from the catalog's line name; genuine multi-cartridge packs for this platform are listed separately and say so in counts, not just grammar.

What does the magenta in a two-sided copy cost?

Around 1.36 cents per duplex sheet at rated coverage — two printed sides at roughly 0.68 cents each. The cartridge itself is $40.71 against a 6,000-page rating, so even a copy-heavy 6605DN keeps its magenta cost modest.

What warranty and returns cover it?

A 1-year warranty, and free returns for a full year. Full terms are on our shipping and returns page. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
