Frequently Asked Questions

Why do faces in our copied photos look gray and washed out?

Skin is the hardest thing a color machine prints, and magenta does most of the work in it. When the magenta cartridge runs low, faces lose their warmth first — copies come out gray, slightly green, lifeless — even while the same machine still prints a decent-looking chart. On a WorkCentre 6605 that symptom points at the 106R02226 long before it points at the scanner.

Do copies drain magenta the same way computer printouts do?

Yes. On the 6605, copying and printing draw from the same set of cartridges, and a color original copied at full coverage can use magenta faster than a typical office document sent from a PC. A week of copying flyers and photos is harder on this cartridge than a week of memos.

Which machines does this listing serve?

The whole 6600/6605 family: the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600N, Phaser 6600DN, Phaser 6600YDN, WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605DN.

How far does 6,000 pages stretch on a copy-heavy machine?

The rating is set at 5% coverage, and color copies usually run well above that. Expect a shorter real-world life than the headline number — the honest way to read it is as a comparison benchmark. At $40.71, the cartridge still lands at roughly 0.68 cents per rated page for the magenta component.

The name says "Cartridges" — is more than one cartridge in the box?

No — one cartridge. The plural is catalog wording carried over from the product line name. What arrives is a single 106R02226 high-yield magenta, ready to drop into the 6605's magenta slot.

What guarantee stands behind it?

A 1-year warranty, plus free returns for a full year if it disappoints. The complete policy is on our shipping and returns page. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
