Frequently Asked Questions

What is the WorkCentre 6605N, in practical terms?

It is the networked version of Xerox's 6605 multifunction machine — print, copy, scan and fax, shared over the office network. The N variant puts the machine on the wire for a whole team; the supplies stay exactly the same, and its black cartridge is this 106R02228, the high-yield unit rated at up to 8,000 pages.

How many cartridges does this order include?

Exactly one. The listing name says "Cartridges," but this is a single-cartridge listing: one compatible 106R02228 black cartridge at $40.71. If your 6605N goes through black quickly — shared machines do — the family's two, three and five-packs are the bundle-priced listings.

Why does a shared machine empty its black cartridge so fast?

Because nobody sees the whole picture. Each person prints a little, copies a little, and the fax adds its share — but the black cartridge keeps the total. On a networked MFP the consumption is collective, which is why Xerox specified a high-yield black for this platform: 8,000 pages between swaps instead of a standard fill that would need changing twice as often.

What is the running cost per page?

About 0.51 cents of toner per page: $40.71 across up to 8,000 rated pages. Spread over a team's combined print and copy volume, that is the figure the office actually experiences — half a cent of black toner on every sheet the machine produces.

Which printers is this cartridge made for?

The WorkCentre 6605N itself, its siblings the WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605dn, and the Phaser side of the family: the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600dn, Phaser 6600n and Phaser 6600ydn. One black part number — 106R02228 — serves them all.

What stands behind the purchase?

A one-year warranty and one-year free returns, set out on the shipping and returns page. Shipments leave warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the rest of the range lives on our Xerox toner page.

About This WorkCentre 6605N Black Cartridge

Team machines need team-sized supplies. This listing is the single high-yield black cartridge for the WorkCentre 6605N: one compatible 106R02228, $40.71, up to 8,000 pages. It is sized for the way a networked multifunction machine really works — many hands, one black cartridge, and a fill big enough that changing it stays an occasional event rather than a recurring interruption.
