Frequently Asked Questions

How many cartridges are in this listing?

One — stated plainly because the listing's name uses the plural "Cartridges." What you receive is a single black cartridge: one compatible 106R02228, the high-yield black for the WorkCentre 6605, rated at up to 8,000 pages and priced at $40.71.

Does a multifunction machine use black toner differently?

It uses it in more ways. A WorkCentre 6605 doesn't just print from computers — it copies documents at the glass and prints incoming faxes, and every one of those pages comes out of the black cartridge too. On an MFP, black consumption is the sum of printing, copying and fax output, which is why the high-yield fill suits these machines so well.

Which machines does this cartridge serve?

It is written for the WorkCentre 6605 and its duplex-network sibling, the WorkCentre 6605dn. The same 106R02228 also feeds the black slot of the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600dn, Phaser 6600n and Phaser 6600ydn — one supply number across both Xerox lines.

What does the toner cost per page?

Roughly 0.51 cents: $40.71 spread across up to 8,000 rated pages. Whether the page was printed, copied or received by fax, it draws on the same black cartridge at the same cost.

How is the 8,000-page figure arrived at?

It is the standard yield rating at about 5% page coverage — a typical text page. Coverage is what moves the real number: a copied stack of dense contracts uses toner faster than the rating assumes, while light memos use less. The figure exists so cartridges can be compared on equal terms.

What cover does the cartridge carry?

A one-year warranty and one-year free returns, per the terms on the shipping and returns page. Orders leave warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the broader range is on our Xerox toner page.
