Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this listing lead with the printer and put 106R02228 in parentheses?

Because buyers search two ways: some by the machine on their desk, others by the number on the cartridge. Both roads end at the same supply. The parenthesized code is the part that matters — 106R02228 is Xerox's high-yield black for the 6605 and 6600 families, and this listing is that cartridge, in compatible form, for the black slot.

How many cartridges does the listing cover?

One cartridge, as the singular "Toner Cartridge" in the name says: a single compatible 106R02228 in black, priced at $40.71 and rated at up to 8,000 pages. Nothing about the parenthetical code changes the quantity — one code, one cartridge.

What is the cost per printed page?

About 0.51 cents — $40.71 divided across the cartridge's 8,000-page rating. That is the high-yield economy for this platform: a larger fill bought once, instead of a smaller cartridge bought more often at a worse per-page rate.

Which printers does it fit?

The cartridge serves the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600dn, Phaser 6600n and Phaser 6600ydn, and the 6605 line as catalogued here: the Phaser 6605, Phaser 6605dn and Phaser 6605n. Across all of them, the black supply is the one part number in this listing's name.

How firm is the 8,000-page rating?

It is a rating at roughly 5% page coverage — the industry yardstick — not a meter reading. Heavy, dark pages draw the total down; plain correspondence lets a cartridge run longer. Use it to compare cartridges fairly, and expect your own count to move with what your office actually prints and copies.

What backs this cartridge after purchase?

A one-year warranty and one-year free returns, with the terms on the shipping and returns page. Shipments are dispatched from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the full range is gathered on our Xerox toner page.

About This 6605 (106R02228) Black Cartridge

However you found it — by the 6605 name or by the code — this listing is the family's anchor supply seen from the printer's side: one compatible 106R02228 high-yield black cartridge at $40.71, rated at up to 8,000 pages, about 0.51 cents per page. The parentheses in the name carry the identification that counts; match that number to the cartridge in your machine and you have the right black supply.
