Frequently Asked Questions

The Phaser 6600YDN has the longest name in the family — does it take a special cartridge?

No. The extra letters describe how that particular machine was configured — its paper handling and connectivity options — and Xerox never tied them to a different supply. The 6600YDN's black cartridge is the family's one and only high-yield black: the 106R02228, rated at up to 8,000 pages, which is exactly what this listing is.

How many cartridges will I receive?

One. This listing's name reads "Cartridges," but the order is for a single cartridge — one compatible 106R02228 in black, priced at $40.71. Quantities beyond one are sold in this family as explicit two, three and five-packs.

How can I be certain this is the right supply for my machine?

Check the cartridge coming out of the printer: its label is stamped with the part number. If it says 106R02228, this listing matches it in compatible form. Model names and suffix strings are the confusing route to the same answer — the part number settles the question in one glance.

What does the toner work out to per page?

About 0.51 cents per page: $40.71 for a cartridge rated at up to 8,000 pages. That is the high-yield black for this platform, so the interval between cartridge changes stretches as far as Xerox designed it to on these machines.

Which other printers use this same black cartridge?

The rest of the Phaser 6600 range — the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600dn, Phaser 6600n and Phaser 6600ydn — together with the WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605dn. Six model names and their variants, one black cartridge.

What support is included with the cartridge?

It is backed by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, with the details on the shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, staff support Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and keep the full range on our Xerox toner page.

About This Phaser 6600YDN Black Cartridge

Long printer names invite doubt at reorder time, so this listing is built around the short answer: the cartridge is the 106R02228. One compatible high-yield black cartridge at $40.71, up to 8,000 pages, about half a cent of toner per page. Whatever the suffix string on your 6600 says, the black slot underneath it takes this supply.
