Frequently Asked Questions

The name says "Toner Cartridges" — how many are in the box?

One. Despite the plural wording in the listing name, this is a single 106R01566 cyan cartridge at $88.49, not a multi-pack. The plural comes from series naming on the Phaser 7800 line; what arrives is one high-yield cyan unit, rated at 17,200 pages.

What does one of these cartridges cover in ordinary 7800 work?

A long stretch. Cyan is the working colour behind blues, greens and most photographic tones, and 17,200 pages of it covers months of mixed work — reports with colour charts, marketing sheets, proofs. On a machine that prints colour daily rather than occasionally, one cartridge is typically a season's worth of cyan, not a month's.

Why might my real page count land below 17,200?

Because the rating is measured at light coverage and real pages are not light. A page carrying a full-width photo can lay down ten times the cyan of a page of text with a blue heading. Nothing is wrong with the cartridge when a photo-heavy quarter finishes it sooner — the honest way to read the rating is as the result under test conditions, with your coverage deciding the rest.

What changes in the print when this cyan starts running low?

Colour balance, quietly. Blues drift toward purple, greens lose their freshness, and skin tones can go slightly sunburned because the mix is missing one ingredient. The change is gradual enough that people adjust to it — comparing a fresh print against one from last month usually reveals how far the blues have wandered.

How do I make sure the reorder is cyan and not a neighbouring colour?

Order by the number, not the colour word. Four cartridges sit side by side in this machine and their boxes look alike; 106R01566 identifies the cyan one unambiguously, whichever 7800 variant you run. Checking the number on the old cartridge's label against the order takes seconds and prevents the wrong-colour delivery entirely.

What cover comes with this cartridge?

A one-year warranty and free returns for a year, set out on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the wider range for the machine is listed on the Xerox toner page.
