Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the three-pack sized for?

An office with a steady, predictable appetite for black printing. Three 106R01080 cartridges carry up to 15,000 pages each — 45,000 pages of black in total for the Phaser 7400, Phaser 7400DN, Phaser 7400DT, Phaser 7400DX or Phaser 7400DFX. At 3,000 black pages a month, that is well over a year of printing in a single order.

What do I save against three single cartridges?

Three singles at $73.70 come to $221.10. This three-pack is $184.13 — $36.97 less — and the per-cartridge price falls to $61.38. Nothing about the cartridge changes; the saving comes from ordering the year's supply in one movement instead of three.

What does that do to the cost per page?

It brings black toner down to roughly 0.41 cents per page across the pack's 45,000 pages, compared with about 0.49 cents buying one cartridge at a time. On a wide-format printer that also produces everyday office pages, keeping the black cost per page low is where the real budget control happens.

How should I store the two cartridges I am not using yet?

Leave them sealed in their boxes, somewhere cool, dry and out of direct sun, and take them out one at a time as the printer calls for them. Toner is a dry powder, so an unopened cartridge waits patiently — it does not dry out or expire the way liquid ink does.

Does the three-pack help with reordering discipline?

It removes most of it. With two spares always behind the installed cartridge, the reorder conversation happens once, calmly, when the last spare goes in — not in a panic when the printer stops. For an office manager, that alone is often worth more than the discount.

What protection comes with the pack?

Each of the three cartridges is covered by a 1-year warranty with free returns for a full year; the details live on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship out of warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, human help runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the rest of the range is gathered on our Xerox toner page.
