Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is in this box?

Two 106R01080 black toner cartridges for the Phaser 7400 series — the Phaser 7400 and its Phaser 7400DN, Phaser 7400DT, Phaser 7400DX and Phaser 7400DFX configurations. Each cartridge is rated for up to 15,000 pages, so the pair covers up to 30,000 pages of black printing.

How does the two-pack math compare with buying singles?

Two single cartridges would cost $147.40. This pair is $128.92, so you save $18.48, and the per-cartridge price drops from $73.70 to $64.46. It is the same cartridge either way — the discount is purely for taking the spare at the same time.

Why do offices buy the black cartridge two at a time?

Because of what the second cartridge prevents. One goes into the printer; one waits on the shelf. When the machine runs dry mid-week — and on a shared 7400 it always seems to happen mid-deadline — the swap takes minutes instead of becoming a rush order and a stalled queue of jobs.

Will the spare cartridge go stale sitting on the shelf?

Toner is a dry powder, not a liquid ink, so it does not dry out in the box. Keep the spare sealed in its packaging, stored somewhere cool and dry and out of direct sunlight, and it will be ready when the installed cartridge runs out — which, at up to 15,000 pages per cartridge, could be months away.

What does the pair bring the cost per page down to?

Across 30,000 total pages, $128.92 works out to roughly 0.43 cents per page, against about 0.49 cents buying one cartridge at a time. The saving is modest per page and real per year: on a machine that prints black all day, those fractions are what your annual toner spend is made of.

Are both cartridges covered the same way?

Yes — each cartridge is backed by our 1-year warranty, and returns stay free for a full year under the terms on our shipping & returns page. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA, our team is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and more for these printers sits on the Xerox supplies page.

About This 106R01080 Two-Pack

Think of this as the no-downtime option: two compatible 106R01080 cartridges for $128.92, one for the printer and one for the shelf. Offices that run a single shared Phaser 7400 and cannot afford a dry machine buy it because the spare turns the next toner change from a purchasing emergency into a two-minute job.
