Frequently Asked Questions
Our 6700's color output has started drifting — blues look greener than the proofs we approved last quarter. Will a fresh set fix that?
Very often, yes. Mixed colors are built from all three color bays at once, so when one cartridge is nearly empty and the other two are mid-life, every blue, green and skin tone the machine produces quietly shifts. Putting a matched trio in together resets that balance in a single maintenance visit: all three colors start from full, at the same age, and the output goes back to matching the proofs. On a fast departmental machine that other people judge your work by, that consistency is the real reason to change the three as a set rather than chasing whichever bay complains first.
Which three cartridges are in the box?
One of each color the platform uses: cyan 106R01507, magenta 106R01508 and yellow 106R01509, and every one of the three is a high-yield cartridge rated at 12,000 pages. There is no black cartridge in this set — black for the 6700 family is ordered from its own listing — so what you are buying here is the complete color side of the machine in a single box, nothing more and nothing less.
How does the price break down per cartridge and per page?
The set is $166.03 for the three cartridges, which comes to $55.34 a cartridge. With each one rated at 12,000 pages, the box holds 36,000 rated color pages, so the color side of your printing costs roughly 0.46 cents per page. As always, that arithmetic leans on the standard 5% coverage behind published yield ratings — a month of full-page photographs and dense marketing layouts will pull real life well below the headline numbers, while ordinary office documents with charts and logos can come close to them.
Cyan has just run dry but magenta and yellow still show a third left. Do I have to fit all three today?
No. Each cartridge changes on its own, and the machine only asks for the bay that is empty. Fit the cyan now, and keep the magenta and yellow sealed on the shelf until their turn comes — a cartridge left in its packaging stores perfectly well and you lose nothing by waiting. Many offices work exactly this way: the set is bought as one order for the price and the convenience, then installed one bay at a time as the printer calls for each color.
Which printers does this set fit?
Every model in the 6700 line: the base Phaser 6700, the networked Phaser 6700N and the duplexing Phaser 6700DN, plus the heavier paper-handling variants covered in the About section below. The trays and finishers differ across the range; the engine and its three color cartridges — 106R01507, 106R01508 and 106R01509 — do not, so a single set suits any of them.
What cover does the set come with, and how does delivery work?
Every cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a unit that streaks, leaks or fades early comes back to us for a replacement or a refund rather than becoming your problem. We dispatch from the closest of our four warehouses — IL, PA, GA or CA — and our support team is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if anything about the order needs a human. Full delivery charges, timeframes and the returns steps are on our shipping & returns page.
About This Three-Cartridge Color Set for the Phaser 6700 Range
This is the whole color bay of the 6700 platform refreshed in one purchase: cyan 106R01507, magenta 106R01508 and yellow 106R01509, each a 12,000-page high-yield cartridge, 36,000 rated pages across the three, for $166.03. It is built for shared departmental machines whose color has to stay trustworthy — reports, presentations and client-facing documents that cannot afford to drift from month to month. The same set also covers the Phaser 6700DT and the range-topping Phaser 6700DX. Black sits outside this box in its own listing, and the rest of the range for these machines is gathered under Xerox in the store. Each cartridge is covered by the 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns described above.
