    Frequently Asked Questions

Why did our greens turn blue while the rest of the page still looks right?

Because green was never printed from a green cartridge — the printer builds it on the page by laying cyan over yellow. Your cyan is still healthy, so the half of green that comes from cyan keeps arriving; it is the yellow half that has stopped. What reaches the paper is cyan with nothing to warm it, and that reads as blue. Yellow is the one color whose disappearance announces itself inside other colors instead of its own, which is why a palette can look intact everywhere except the greens and still be exactly one cartridge away from fixed: this one, the 106R01509.

Why can't I judge this cartridge by looking at a test print the way I can with the other colors?

Yellow defeats the eyeball test. It is the palest toner in the machine, and a patch of pure yellow on white paper is barely there even when the cartridge is brand new — the solid bar on a supplies page looks half-empty on a good day. So judge yellow by its work instead of by itself: print a page carrying a solid green field or a warm photograph. If the green comes out blue and the photograph comes out cold, the yellow is spent, whatever that pale bar seemed to say. The printer's own percentage, counted from coverage rather than guessed from appearance, deserves more trust with this color than with any other in the bay.

Our oranges are printing red and warm photos have gone cold. Same cartridge?

Same cartridge, same missing ingredient. Orange is magenta laid over yellow; without the yellow underneath, orange collapses toward plain red, and the warmth drains out of everything built on that mixture — skin loses its glow, wood tones go gray-blue, food looks unappetizing. Greens turning blue and oranges turning red look like two faults pulling in opposite directions, but both mixtures are missing exactly one shared component. When the cool colors hold their ground and only the warm side of the palette lies, the yellow unit is the explanation.

What does the 12,000-page rating assume about the pages we print?

It assumes an average page carries toner over roughly 5% of its surface — letter density, not poster density. Yellow quietly rides along in far more of a color office's output than its name suggests: every green chart bar, every orange headline, every warm photograph spends it, so a color-heavy department draws this cartridge down steadily even on pages where nobody can see yellow at all. At $67.67 the rated arithmetic lands at about 0.56 cents per page. Treat the 12,000 as a ceiling for light work and a planning figure for heavy work — the high-yield format at least means the question comes up a few times a year instead of monthly.

How do I make sure the replacement I order is this exact yellow?

Match the code on the cartridge you remove, not the color on the box. The Phaser 6700 family was sold with more than one yellow yield class, and two yellow units for the same machine can sit side by side on a shelf looking identical while carrying very different ratings. If the label on your spent unit reads 106R01509, you are holding the high-yield yellow — 12,000 pages — and this listing is its like-for-like replacement. Code to code, and there is no yield class left to confuse.

What protection comes with this cartridge?

A one-year warranty, and returns stay free for that same full year — a unit that arrives damaged, leaks, or fails to bring the warmth back to your prints goes back at no cost to you. Orders ship from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA; the complete terms are on our shipping and returns page, and support answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you would rather walk through the symptoms with a person first.

About This 106R01509 High Yield Yellow Toner Cartridge

Yellow does its work in hiding: it is half of every green and every orange this printer makes and the warmth inside every skin tone, yet on its own it is nearly invisible on the page. This listing is a single Clever Supplies compatible yellow cartridge replacing the Xerox 106R01509, rated at 12,000 pages and priced at $67.67 — roughly 0.56 cents per rated page. It feeds the whole Phaser 6700 line from one toner bay: the base Phaser 6700 and the Phaser 6700N, Phaser 6700DN, Phaser 6700DT and Phaser 6700DX, whose suffixes describe networking and paper handling rather than a different cartridge. Because yellow fails silently, the practical way to run it is by the code and the counter, not by waiting for a fade you can see. Read 106R01509 off the unit you pull, match it here, and the replacement seats with no tools and nothing to set.
