Frequently Asked Questions

The title says "Cartridges" — how many are in the box?

One. The plural in the listing name is catalog wording, not a count: this is a single 106R02227 yellow cartridge, priced at $40.71. If your machine needs the other colors as well, each is its own separate cartridge and its own listing — nothing is bundled into this one.

Why does one cartridge serve both a printer line and a multifunction line?

Because the Phaser 6600 printers and the WorkCentre 6605 multifunctions were built on the same print engine and the same supply design. Xerox gave the platform a single yellow cartridge rather than one per model, so the cartridge that feeds a Phaser 6600 also feeds a WorkCentre 6605 — printing, copying and fax output all draw from the same supply.

What fades first as this cartridge runs down?

The warm and light end of the palette. Pure yellows turn ghostly, highlighted passages lose their fill, and colors built from yellow — greens, oranges, golds — drift off-recipe while blues and blacks still look convincing. If the page looks oddly cold, this cartridge is the first suspect.

How long should one cartridge last in ordinary office use?

It is rated for up to 6,000 pages at 5% coverage. Offices printing mostly text with occasional color will take a long time to spend that; a studio or marketing desk pushing full-color pages daily will spend it far sooner. The rating is a comparison yardstick, not a countdown.

How does the price work out per page?

At $40.71 over 6,000 rated pages, the yellow share of a color page costs about 0.68 cents — the figure to fold into any cost-per-page estimate for a 6600-series machine.

What cover does the cartridge carry?

A 1-year warranty, plus free returns for a full year if it underperforms. The fine print is on our shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
