Frequently Asked Questions

Why does an empty yellow cartridge surface one complaint at a time on a shared printer?

On a networked machine like the Phaser 6600N, nobody owns the output. The person printing green charts notices their greens went blue; the person printing text notices nothing at all. So the yellow cartridge's decline arrives as a string of unrelated grumbles from different desks — until someone prints the supplies page and finds the yellow level sitting at the bottom.

Which jobs expose a weak yellow first?

Anything with greens, warm brand colors or highlight fills: presentation decks, marketing handouts, spreadsheets with color-coded rows. Plain correspondence can run for weeks on a nearly empty yellow without a visible flaw, which is exactly why shared machines get caught out mid-deck.

How many pages does one cartridge cover on a busy shared machine?

The rating is up to 6,000 pages at 5% coverage. On a shared printer the pages accumulate from every direction at once, so the calendar life is shorter than the same cartridge in a personal printer — the page count is the same, the weeks are fewer. Checking levels before big group print runs is the habit that saves the embarrassment.

What should a department budget per page for yellow?

This cartridge costs $40.71, which spreads to roughly 0.68 cents per page across its rating — the yellow share to include when you cost a shared color machine.

Does the same cartridge fit the rest of the 6600/6605 family?

Yes — one code serves the platform. Alongside this 6600N it feeds the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600DN, Phaser 6600YDN, WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605DN, so a mixed fleet stocks one yellow, not several.

What warranty and returns cover applies?

The cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year. The full terms are posted on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, with support available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
