Frequently Asked Questions

Our Phaser 6600N is shared by the whole office — why is magenta always the first cartridge to go?

Because a shared machine prints everybody's color, not just yours: presentations with warm backgrounds, web pages, charts, photos from three departments. Magenta carries the warm half of that mix, so on a networked printer it drains ahead of the pack. It is a usage pattern, not a defect — the fix is keeping a spare 106R02226 on the shelf instead of discovering the empty at deadline time.

Does the "N" version of the 6600 need a different cartridge?

No. The N marks the networked variant of the printer; it changes how the machine connects, not what it feeds on. Every 6600 variant and its WorkCentre cousins share the same magenta supply, and 106R02226 is that supply in its high-yield form.

Which models does one cartridge cover?

The full platform: Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600N, Phaser 6600DN, Phaser 6600YDN, WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605DN.

How should we plan around the 6,000-page rating on a shared machine?

The rating assumes 5% page coverage, and shared-office color rarely stays that light. Treat 6,000 as the ceiling, watch for the early symptom — reds drifting orange — and reorder when the panel warning appears rather than after it. At $40.71 a cartridge, holding one spare is cheap uptime.

What does magenta cost per page here?

About 0.68 cents. The 106R02226 is $40.71 rated over 6,000 pages, which makes the magenta share of a color page one of the smaller lines in a shared printer's budget.

What backing does the cartridge carry?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year. Terms are spelled out on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
