Frequently Asked Questions

What arrives when you order this listing?

Two compatible 106R02228 high-yield black cartridges, each rated at up to 8,000 pages — 16,000 pages of black printing in total. One goes into the printer; the second waits on the shelf as a spare, so the next time the black slot runs dry the replacement is already in the building.

How does the two-pack math work?

The pair costs $62.94, which is $31.47 per cartridge. Two singles bought separately would run $81.42, so the two-pack keeps $18.48 in your pocket and drops the toner cost from about 0.51 cents to about 0.39 cents per page.

What does 16,000 pages mean in practice?

It means the black supply stops being a recurring errand. An office printing a few hundred black pages a week is looking at many months between orders; even a busy workgroup gets through a full cartridge, swaps in the spare the same day, and only then needs to think about reordering.

How should the spare cartridge be stored?

Keep it in its sealed packaging, lying flat, at ordinary room temperature and out of direct sunlight. Stored that way, a toner cartridge waits patiently — there is no benefit to opening it early, and the seal keeps the toner fresh and the cartridge clean until the day it is fitted.

Which printers do these cartridges fit?

Both cartridges are the black supply for the Phaser 6600, Phaser 6600dn, Phaser 6600n and Phaser 6600ydn, and for the WorkCentre 6605 and WorkCentre 6605dn. One part number — 106R02228 — covers the black slot across both printer lines.

What cover comes with the pair?

Each cartridge carries a one-year warranty with one-year free returns, detailed on the shipping and returns page. Shipments leave warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, help is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the wider range is on our Xerox toner page.

About This 106R02228 Two-Pack

This listing is built around a simple idea: the cheapest cartridge is the one you never have to wait for. Two high-yield black cartridges at $62.94 — $31.47 each, roughly 0.39 cents per page across 16,000 pages — mean one swap today and one spare in reserve. For a Phaser 6600 or WorkCentre 6605 that prints every day, that is the difference between a two-minute cartridge change and a printer sitting idle while an order ships.
