Frequently Asked Questions

Why would an office buy eight cartridges in one order?

To stop thinking about toner for a long stretch. Eight cartridges drawn from the 106R01597 black, 106R01594 cyan, 106R01596 magenta and 106R01595 yellow supplies give a working printer multiple full change cycles from a single purchase — no mid-job shortages, no emergency orders, no second delivery to wait on. For a machine that prints every day, that quiet shelf is worth more than the modest planning it takes.

Is the eight split evenly — two of each color?

The product name gives the total count and the four part numbers the set is built from; it does not state an exact per-color split, so we describe it the same way rather than promise a distribution we have not specified. Every cartridge in the box is one of 106R01597, 106R01594, 106R01596 or 106R01595, and all four positions in the printer are covered by the set. If an even two-of-each split is essential to you, ask us before ordering and we will verify the current pack-out.

How should eight cartridges be stored so the last one is as good as the first?

Keep them sealed in their packaging, stored flat in a cool, dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Toner cartridges are shelf-stable for long periods while sealed; the enemies are heat, humidity and a torn seal. Fit them in purchase order — oldest stock first — and each cartridge will perform like the one before it.

What page life should we budget per cartridge?

Budget by the individual ratings, since the colors and the black differ: the 106R01597 black is rated for up to 3,000 pages, and the 106R01594, 106R01596 and 106R01595 colors for up to 2,500 pages each, measured at standard coverage. An eight-cartridge stock therefore covers a substantial run of everyday office printing, though graphics-heavy work will draw the colors down faster than the ratings suggest.

Does this stock-up set fit both the printer and the multifunction versions?

Yes — one supply platform serves both badges. The set runs in the Phaser 6500DN, 6500N and base 6500 printers, and equally in the WorkCentre 6505DN, 6505N and standard 6505 models, which is handy for sites running a mix of the two.

What if one cartridge out of the eight turns out faulty?

The whole set sits under a 1-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year — the terms are set out on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from whichever of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses is nearest to you, and a support team member can be reached Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Xerox 6500 Eight-Cartridge Stock-Up Set

The bulk option for the 6500 platform: eight compatible cartridges spanning the 106R01597 black (rated up to 3,000 pages) and the 106R01594 cyan, 106R01596 magenta and 106R01595 yellow supplies (rated up to 2,500 pages each), at $126.11 for the full stock. It serves the Phaser 6500 range and the WorkCentre 6505 multifunctions alike, and it is built for offices that would rather keep a shelf of toner than a recurring reminder to reorder. Smaller set sizes and singles for the same machines are listed on our Xerox page.
