Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly arrives in this box?

Four cartridges — one of each color your machine runs on. There is a black 106R01597, a cyan 106R01594, a magenta 106R01596 and a yellow 106R01595, each sealed and ready to drop into its own slot. Nothing else is needed: no adapters, no transfer parts, just the complete set of supplies the printer was designed around.

Why swap all four at once instead of replacing them one at a time?

Because staggered changes mean staggered surprises. When the whole set goes in together, every color starts from a known, full baseline, and the next low-toner warning genuinely means something. Offices that change cartridges piecemeal end up troubleshooting muddy color that turns out to be a second, older cartridge fading behind the new one. A single full refresh clears that guesswork in one ten-minute session.

Will the four cartridges run out together afterwards?

Almost certainly not, and that is normal. The black 106R01597 is rated for up to 3,000 pages, while each color — the 106R01594, 106R01596 and 106R01595 — is rated for up to 2,500 pages, and real usage widens the gap further because text-heavy work leans on black while color sits nearly idle. When one color does fade first, replace just that one; the set simply gives you a clean, synchronized starting point.

Which machines is this set made for?

It covers the Phaser 6500 family — the base model, the Phaser 6500N and the Phaser 6500DN — plus the WorkCentre 6505 multifunctions. Both lines were built on the same supply platform, so one set serves either badge.

How long should a full set last in a small office?

Work from the ratings, then discount for coverage. The yield figures assume light, standard page coverage, so an office printing mostly letters and invoices can approach them, while brochures and full-color reports will land well short. A practical planning rule: treat the color ratings as your reorder horizon, since the 2,500-page colors will generally call for attention before the 3,000-page black does.

What protection comes with the set if something is wrong?

Every cartridge in the box is covered by a 1-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year — details live on our shipping and returns page. Your order ships from the nearest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Xerox 6500 Four-Cartridge Color Set

The one-box refresh for the 6500 platform: four compatible cartridges — 106R01597 black (up to 3,000 pages) plus 106R01594 cyan, 106R01596 magenta and 106R01595 yellow (up to 2,500 pages each) — for $72.30. It fits the Phaser 6500 line and the WorkCentre 6505DN and its 6505N sibling alike, which makes it the simple way to bring an aging machine back to a known-good color baseline in a single order. More supplies for this platform are on our Xerox page.
