Frequently Asked Questions

Why do the four toner levels on a 6500 seem to fall together?

Because they usually started together. Cartridges installed on the same day age under the same workload, and most office documents draw on all four — black for text, the colors for logos, charts and shaded boxes. By the time one gauge is low, the other three are rarely far behind, which is why a complete set is the common order for this machine.

What exactly does this 6500 set contain?

One cartridge per position: black 106R01597, cyan 106R01594, magenta 106R01595 and yellow 106R01596. Nothing else is needed to carry out a full change — open the box and all four slots can be dealt with in one session.

How much printing does each cartridge deliver?

Black 106R01597 is rated at up to 3,000 pages; cyan 106R01594, magenta 106R01595 and yellow 106R01596 are rated at up to 2,500 pages each, on the standard 5% coverage basis. Full-color pages drink more toner than the test page assumes, so a color-heavy office will see the color ratings shrink in real use.

Which printers take this set?

It is made for the Phaser 6500 and its networked twin, the Phaser 6500N. If the cartridges in your machine carry the 106R01594–106R01597 part numbers, the fit is confirmed regardless of which of the two models you own.

Is there a required order for swapping the four?

No set sequence and no pairing step. Work through the positions in whatever order suits you; each cartridge registers its own level as it seats, and the printer remains usable even if you stop halfway and finish the change another day.

What protection and shipping terms apply?

The set carries a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, detailed on our shipping and returns page. We dispatch from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, choosing the closest stock to your address, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This 6500 4 Color Set

This $72.30 set renews a Phaser 6500 or 6500N in one pass: black 106R01597 rated to 3,000 pages with cyan 106R01594, magenta 106R01595 and yellow 106R01596 rated to 2,500 pages each. Order it when the whole machine is due rather than a single color. Individual cartridges for the platform are also listed on our Xerox toner page.
