Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy two cartridges at once instead of reordering when one runs dry?

Because the moment a printer stops is never a convenient one. This two-pack of MLT-D203U cartridges means the second unit is already on the shelf when the first gives out — one goes in, printing resumes in minutes, and the reorder happens on your schedule instead of under pressure. Across the pair you hold 30,000 rated pages of cover.

What does the two-pack do to the price of each cartridge?

The pack is $92.59, which works out to $46.30 per cartridge against $55.53 bought singly — a saving of $18.47 across the pair. Per printed page the toner cost drops to roughly 0.31 cents. The saving is real but modest; the bigger win for most buyers is never facing an empty printer with nothing in the cupboard.

Which printer do these cartridges serve?

Both units are MLT-D203U cartridges for the Samsung SL-M4020ND. If the cartridge coming out of your machine carries a different code — the tiers for this platform include the MLT-D203S, MLT-D203L and MLT-D203E — match that code instead, because the listings are not interchangeable even though the boxes look similar.

How should the spare cartridge be stored?

Keep it sealed in its bag, flat, and in a normal room away from radiators and sunny windows. Toner cartridges are not perishable on any short timescale, and an unopened MLT-D203U stored that way will be in the same condition months later when the printer finally asks for it.

Do both cartridges have to go in together?

No — the printer takes one at a time, and a cartridge only starts its working life once installed. The second unit simply waits. Note that this platform also uses a separate MLT-R203 drum unit on its own replacement cycle, so a drum warning during the life of this pack is a separate purchase, not a reason to open the spare early.

Are both cartridges covered if one is faulty?

Yes. Each Clever Supplies compatible cartridge in the pack carries the same one-year warranty, and returns are free within that first year. The terms are laid out on our shipping and returns page, and the support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
