Frequently Asked Questions

How does a 1,500-page cartridge map onto the ML-1667's monthly output?

Divide your monthly pages into 1,500: a household printing 125 pages a month gets a year from one MLT-D104S, while 300 pages a month brings the swap round every five months. The cartridge is sized for exactly this class of printer — personal and light-duty, changed rarely.

The ML-1667 has started warning about low toner — should the new cartridge go in straight away?

Not necessarily. The warning is an estimate pitched early, and there is usually a useful stretch of printing behind it; carry on until pages genuinely begin to fade, then swap. A gentle side-to-side rock of the old cartridge before you judge it often restores even output for a while, because the last of the powder settles where the printer cannot reach it.

What should I expect from this cartridge in an ML-1667 used at home?

Full-density black from the first page, and output that stays even until the fill runs low near the rated 1,500 pages. Fit it after a gentle side-to-side rock, and expect the first sign of old age to be gradual fading rather than any sudden failure.

What running cost does this cartridge give the ML-1667?

$39.58 across 1,500 rated pages works out at about 2.64 cents of toner a page. Home printing is usually lighter coverage than the rating assumes, so many households find the real figure a shade kinder than that.

Which printers share this cartridge with the ML-1667?

The same MLT-D104S serves the ML-1660, ML-1661, ML-1665, ML-1666, ML-1670 and ML-1675, the ML-1860, ML-1861 and ML-1866, and the SCX-3200, SCX-3205, SCX-3205W, SCX-3206, SCX-3210, SCX-3217 and SCX-3218 — the family we list under Samsung toner cartridges.

If this cartridge lets me down, what can I do?

Send it back: it carries twelve months of warranty, and returns cost you nothing at any point in those twelve months if the cartridge faults. The shipping and returns page explains how a return is raised, and the cartridge is sent from whichever of our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA is closest to you.
