Frequently Asked Questions

On a home-office desk, how often will this cartridge need changing across a year?

At the MLT-D104S rating of 1,500 pages, a desk printing 30 pages a week empties one in about eleven months — so for many home offices the answer is once a year, almost to the week. Double the pace and it becomes a twice-a-year job; the swap itself takes minutes.

Why is the MLT-D104S code printed in this listing's name?

So the match can be checked at a glance. The ML-1665 takes the MLT-D104S, and the label on the cartridge you remove carries the same code — if the two match, the cartridge is right, whatever the outer box looks like. It removes the one real risk in reordering, which is a look-alike Samsung part for another generation.

What does one cartridge cost us per week on the ML-1665?

Spread over its life, very little: $39.58 for 1,500 rated pages is about 2.64 cents of toner per page, so even a 100-page week costs roughly $2.64 in toner. It is a calm way to see that the compact's running cost is mostly paper.

Does this cartridge fit other Samsung Xpress models?

It fits the wider compact family rather than the Xpress line as such: the ML-1660, ML-1661, ML-1666, ML-1667, ML-1670 and ML-1676 printers, the ML-1860, ML-1864 and ML-1865W, and the SCX-3200, SCX-3201, SCX-3205, SCX-3206, SCX-3210 and SCX-3218 — all recorded under Samsung toner cartridges.

What are the signs the cartridge is genuinely at its end?

Fading that returns within a page or two of a gentle rock, a pale streak fixed in the same position, and the low-toner warning showing together. One light page after the printer has sat idle is not a sign — print a second sheet before judging.

What happens if this cartridge faults within the year?

It comes back free: the cartridge carries a one-year warranty with free returns for one year, and the shipping and returns page explains the route. Orders ship from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
