Frequently Asked Questions

How does a 3,000-page cartridge map onto the M2875 DW's monthly output?

Divide 3,000 by the machine's monthly pages and you have its cartridge rhythm. An M2875 DW printing 1,500 pages a month takes a fresh MLT-D116L every two months; at 750 a month, every four months; at 3,000 a month, every month on the dot. Workhorse machines eat cartridges on a schedule, and this cartridge's rating is the number that sets it.

What does a 2,000-page month cost in toner on this machine?

About $21.40. Toner here works out near 1.07 cents a page — the cartridge is $32.13 against a 3,000-page rating — so a 2,000-page month consumes about twenty-one dollars' worth, and a heavy 3,000-page month consumes exactly one cartridge. For a machine doing that volume, it is a tidy, forecastable running cost.

Most of our pages are dense forms rather than letters — what happens to the page count?

It comes down. The 3,000-page rating is standardised on light, even text coverage; dense forms with shaded boxes, rules and bold headings cover far more of each page and can pull a cartridge's real total toward 2,000–2,400 pages. Nothing is wrong when that happens — the MLT-D116L is spending its powder on ink-heavy pages — but a forms-heavy office should plan its changeovers on the lower figure.

Which other Samsung printers share this cartridge?

The M2875 DW's MLT-D116L is the common cartridge for the Xpress M2626, Xpress M2676, Xpress M2826, Xpress M2835 DW, Xpress M2875, Xpress SL-M2625D, Xpress SL-M2675F, Xpress SL-M2825DW, Xpress SL-M2875FD, SL-M2835DW and SL-M2885FW. A spare bought for the workhorse can therefore stand in for any of those printers too — see the Samsung toner range.

The listing names the M2875 DW — is this the cartridge for the M2875 series generally?

Yes. Model names in this range vary — M2875, M2875 DW and their SL- and Xpress-badged relations — but the cartridge question is settled by the part number, not the badge: they take the MLT-D116L, the high-yield fill in this listing, rated at 3,000 pages. Match the code and the cartridge is right, whichever styling of the name your machine wears.

What guarantee comes with the cartridge?

A one-year guarantee, with free returns running for a year alongside it — a cartridge that leaks, streaks or gives out far short of its rating can be returned at no cost, as the shipping and returns page explains. We dispatch from IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
