Frequently Asked Questions

Our colour copies look washed out and slightly blue - is the magenta to blame?

Quite possibly. On a multifunction machine the same CLT-M508L cartridge feeds both printing and copying, and magenta is what warms up reds, pinks and skin tones in a copied page. As it fades, copies lose that warmth and drift towards blue and green, even though text stays perfectly sharp. Print the machine's test or demo page: if the magenta band is visibly weaker than the others, a fresh cartridge is the fix.

Does copying draw on this cartridge the same way printing does?

Yes - a colour copy is printed exactly like a computer printout, so every copied page spends magenta at the same rate. Scanning a document to email or to a folder, by contrast, uses no toner at all. Offices that copy colour paperwork all day often get through the CLT-M508L noticeably faster than their print volumes alone would suggest, which is worth remembering when you are forecasting how long the 4,000-page rating will last.

How will we know when it is time to order the next one?

Watch two things. The supply gauge on the machine or in the driver software gives you the planned warning, and the output gives you the real one: reds turning orange-red, photos looking cold, colour copies losing their punch. Order when the gauge gets low rather than when pages start to suffer, and the swap takes minutes. We hold stock in IL, PA, GA and CA, so a CLT-M508L ordered in a hurry does not have far to travel.

Which machines does this magenta cartridge fit?

It is the high yield magenta for the Samsung CLP-620ND, CLP-670N and CLP-670ND printers, and for the CLX-3175FN, CLX-3175FW and CLX-6220FX multifunction machines. Six models in total share this supply, and the cartridge is a single unit - there is nothing else to buy or fit alongside it.

Standard or high yield - which magenta belongs in our machine?

Both versions belong; the choice is about workload. This CLT-M508L is the high yield option, rated at 4,000 pages, while the CLT-M508S is the standard yield alternative for the same machines. A multifunction unit copying and printing colour every day will usually justify the L version on changeover frequency alone, whereas a machine that prints colour a few times a month is served perfectly well by the standard cartridge.

What if the cartridge leaks or fails early in its life?

Then it comes back to us. The CLT-M508L is warrantied for a year, and returns are free throughout that first year, whether the problem is a leak, a streak the machine cannot clear, or output that never looks right. The process is explained on our shipping and returns page, and support is available on weekdays, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, if you want to describe the fault before sending anything back.

About This Cartridge

Small offices running a Samsung multifunction machine ask a lot of one magenta cartridge: morning print runs, afternoon colour copies, the occasional photo for a presentation. This Clever Supplies compatible CLT-M508L answers with a 4,000-page high yield rating at $57.72 - around 1.44 cents per page - sized for the CLX-3175FN, CLX-3175FW and CLX-6220FX as well as the CLP-620 and CLP-670 printers they share supplies with.

Keep the set balanced by replacing colours individually as each one fades; there is no need to change all four together, and the rest of the 508 family, including the CLT-K508L black, is listed throughout our Samsung catalogue. If your copies have been looking cold lately, magenta is the first cartridge to check - and this is the high yield one to check it against.
