Frequently Asked Questions

We run two of these machines on the same floor. Can one 2-pack supply both of them?

Yes. Both machines take the identical black cartridge, so a 2-pack can be split one cartridge per machine, or both cartridges can follow the workload to whichever unit prints more. There is nothing machine-specific about either cartridge in the box — the pack is simply two of the standard singles bought together at a lower per-cartridge price.

What does having the second cartridge do to our reorder schedule?

It roughly doubles the interval between orders, which is where most of the practical value sits. A simple rhythm works well: the day the second cartridge goes into a machine, place the next order. That way a fresh pack is always in transit or on the shelf before either machine can run dry, and nobody has to watch toner gauges.

Should the spare be kept beside the machine or in a central supply room?

Either works, as long as it stays sealed in its original packaging, lying flat, away from heat and direct sun — a supply room shelf is perfectly fine. The one arrangement to avoid is an unsealed cartridge sitting out in the open, since dust and light are unkind to any toner cartridge over time. Central storage has the added benefit of making the stock level easy to check at a glance.

Will both cartridges in this pack work across the machine family, or only in the DSC535?

Both cartridges are the standard cartridge for the whole Ricoh Aficio MP C4503/C5503 family; the listing is simply titled under one of its badges: Gestetner DSC535 and Gestetner DSC545. Any machine in that family accepts these cartridges, regardless of which name appears on its front panel or in this listing's title.

If one cartridge in the pack turns out to be faulty and the other is fine, what happens?

The faulty cartridge is dealt with on its own — you do not have to return the good one or the whole pack. Each cartridge carries the same one-year warranty and one-year free returns described on our shipping and returns page, so a single bad unit is replaced or refunded while its partner stays in service.

How quickly will the 2-pack reach us once we order?

We ship from four warehouses — IL, PA, GA, and CA — so most orders travel a short distance to their destination. If timing is critical for a deadline, our support team can confirm the picture Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST before you place the order.
