Frequently Asked Questions

We print our own brochures and flyers — which parts of the page lean hardest on magenta?

Anything warm. Reds, oranges, purples, skin tones in photos and most headline colors in marketing pieces are built with a heavy share of magenta. A brochure with a big red banner on every page can use magenta faster than a month of ordinary office color printing.

Will we really see 10,500 pages from this cartridge on marketing work?

Probably not, and we would rather say so plainly. The 10,500-page rating assumes about 5% coverage, while a full-bleed flyer may cover most of the sheet. On light office color you can approach the rating; on dense promotional pieces, plan on noticeably fewer pages per cartridge.

Our reds are coming out orange — is magenta the culprit?

Very possibly. Red is printed by combining magenta and yellow, so when magenta runs low the balance tips and reds slide toward orange, while purples lose their depth. If yellow and cyan output still look right, a fading magenta cartridge is the first thing to check.

Is this magenta cartridge made only for the C2000 named in the title?

No. The listing title highlights one model, but this 842309 magenta cartridge fits the whole Ricoh IM C2000 and IM C2500 family. The same cartridge serves every model in the platform, so the title is a naming convenience, not a restriction.

Is it smarter to buy magenta alone or as part of the four-color set?

If only magenta is low, the single cartridge at $64.98 is the right buy — there is no prize for replacing cartridges that still have life in them. The set earns its keep when several colors are aging together and you want one order, one delivery and a lower price per cartridge.

What if this cartridge arrives with a problem?

Then we make it right: it carries a one-year warranty and one year of free returns under the terms on our shipping and returns page. Reach our support team Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and remember orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA.
