Frequently Asked Questions

Our C2000 spends most of the day copying rather than printing — does that change how fast this black cartridge empties?

Not really. Whether the page comes from a print job or the copy glass, it is laid down by the same black cartridge, so 16,500 rated pages means 16,500 pages of output either way. A copy-heavy office should simply plan on the same lifespan it would get from printing.

How many reams of paper does 16,500 pages work out to?

Roughly 33 reams, or a little over three cases of paper. If your office goes through a case of paper every month or so, expect one cartridge to carry you through a full quarter of everyday documents, invoices and reports.

Is the 16,500-page rating realistic for dense pages?

The rating follows the industry standard of about 5% page coverage — a typical text page. Pages packed with bold headlines, shaded tables or large graphics use noticeably more toner, so a graphics-heavy workload will land below the rating while plain correspondence can meet or beat it.

The title names the C2000 — is this cartridge tied to that one model?

No. This listing is titled for the C2000, but the 842307 black cartridge serves the whole Ricoh IM C2000 and IM C2500 family, and every model in that platform takes the same cartridge. The single model name in the title is just how the listing is organized.

Can I swap this cartridge in the middle of a long copy run?

Yes. When the machine stops on an empty black cartridge, open the front cover, slide the old unit out and the new one in — most people finish in a couple of minutes with no tools. The job queue holds, and printing or copying resumes where it left off.

What protection do I get if this cartridge disappoints?

Every cartridge we sell is backed by a one-year warranty and one year of free returns, detailed on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
