Frequently Asked Questions

Our reports are full of blue charts, headers and logos — how much cyan does that actually use?

More than most people expect. Every blue bar chart, shaded table header and corporate logo is built largely from cyan, so a report-heavy office can drain this cartridge well ahead of the magenta and yellow. If your documents lean blue, cyan is usually the first color to order.

Why does a color page cost more than a black page on this machine?

This cyan cartridge is rated at 10,500 pages and priced at $64.98, which works out to about 0.62 cents per page — and a full-color page draws on three color cartridges plus black. That is simply the economics of color laser printing, and it is why many offices default shared printers to black-and-white and reserve color for final copies.

If we print a black-and-white document, does it touch this cyan cartridge?

A true black-and-white job is printed from the black cartridge, so your cyan supply is preserved for actual color work. Setting the driver to grayscale for drafts and internal documents is the easiest way to stretch every color cartridge in the machine.

The listing says C2000. Our machine is a sibling model in the same family — will this cyan work?

Yes. Listings are titled with a single model name, but this 842310 cyan cartridge fits the complete Ricoh IM C2000 and IM C2500 range, not just the C2000 in the title. Every model in that platform uses the same cyan cartridge.

Should I change cyan the moment the low warning appears?

You can usually keep printing while you arrange a replacement — the warning arrives with toner still in reserve, though blues and greens will start to look washed out as the cartridge truly empties. Swap it when print quality dips or the machine stops on empty; slotting the new cartridge in takes a couple of minutes.

What cover does this cyan cartridge come with?

It is covered by a one-year warranty with one year of free returns, as set out on our shipping and returns page. Cartridges ship from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is on hand Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
