Frequently Asked Questions

Why do faces in printed photos look wrong before magenta fully runs out?

Magenta does much of the work in skin tones and reds, so as it fades, faces turn pale or greenish and red logos wash toward orange — often while the supply gauge still shows a little left. On the C2500, which many offices use for client-facing documents, that slow drift is usually the first visible sign this cartridge is done.

How long should one magenta cartridge last us?

The rating is 10,500 pages at standard 5% coverage, and magenta realistically covers a fraction of most pages, so many offices get well beyond that page count in practice. Brochure and photo work consumes it far faster; the rating is best treated as a comparison benchmark rather than a promise.

Is it worth keeping a spare magenta on hand for a fast printer?

For most offices, yes. The C2500 is typically the shared workhorse, and a color running dry stops color jobs for everyone until a replacement arrives. A sealed spare on the shelf means a two-minute fix instead of a day or two of monochrome-only printing.

Is this cartridge restricted to the C2500 named in the title?

It is not. The listing names one model, but the 842309 magenta cartridge is shared across the Ricoh IM C2000 and IM C2500 family — the C2500 and C2000 use the same magenta unit. The title reflects the listing, not a compatibility limit.

What if the cartridge is faulty out of the box?

Tell us and it is covered: a one-year warranty applies to every cartridge, and returns stay free for the first year, including on opened items that fail in the machine. The full wording is on our shipping and returns page.

Who do I talk to if colors still look off after installing it?

Our support team works Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central, and can help separate a cartridge issue from a machine setting. Orders, meanwhile, ship from the closest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses.
