Frequently Asked Questions

The SP 4100N only holds one cartridge — why buy two at once?

Because the moment a cartridge runs dry mid-job, the second one on the shelf is the difference between a two-minute swap and a printer sitting idle while a reorder ships. This 2-pack puts one in the machine and one in reserve. At $287.42 for the pair, each cartridge works out to $143.71 — $18.50 less overall than buying two singles at $152.96 each.

How many pages does the full 2-pack cover?

Each cartridge is rated for up to 15,000 pages, so the pair covers up to 30,000 pages in total. For an office printing 1,000 pages a month, that is roughly two and a half years of black toner bought in a single order — one purchase order, one delivery, no mid-year reordering.

Will this 2-pack work in my printer?

Yes, if your machine is Ricoh Aficio SP 4100N. Both cartridges in the pack are the 402809 code specified for that model. Ricoh used different cartridges across the SP series, so if your printer is anything other than the SP 4100N, match the code on your current cartridge before ordering.

Does the spare cartridge go stale sitting on the shelf?

Not when it is stored properly. Keep the spare sealed in its packaging, flat, in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Toner powder does not dry out the way ink does, and a sealed cartridge holds up well over the months it typically waits as a backup.

What if I end up not needing the second cartridge?

Both cartridges are covered by our 1-year free returns, so an unused, unopened spare can come back within that window. The pack also carries a 1-year warranty on performance. Details are on our shipping & returns page.

Can the two cartridges be used in different machines?

Yes — nothing ties them together. If your office runs more than one SP 4100N, the pack can be split between machines however you like, and each cartridge is individually warranted. If you need a hand sorting out an order or a claim, support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
