Frequently Asked Questions

Can we do the full cost accounting on this 5 pack?

Yes. Five 43501901 drums cost $277.33, which is about $55.47 per drum — against $70.25 bought singly, so the pack saves roughly $73.92. Spread over each drum's 25,000-page rating, the drum's contribution to your cost per page falls from about 0.28 cents with a single to about 0.22 cents with this pack, and the five units together represent up to 125,000 pages of drum life.

Our office runs several of these printers — does one part number really cover them all?

It does. The 43501901 is the shared drum for the B4400, B4400n, B4500, B4500n, B4550, B4550n, B4600 and B4600n. That is exactly why a 5 pack makes sense in a multi-printer office: one stock item on the shelf serves every machine, instead of a different drum for each model.

What does a worn drum actually do to our documents?

It degrades the image before the toner ever reaches the paper — repeating lines and spots, streaks, faded patches and a dirty gray background. Because the 43501901 forms the image, no amount of fresh toner restores clean output once the drum surface is tired. Swapping the drum is what brings back crisp pages.

Does the drum get changed on the same schedule as toner?

No — it lasts far longer, up to 25,000 pages against a toner cartridge's much shorter cycle. Most printers go through several toner cartridges per drum, which is why drum changes are the rare, planned event and toner changes are the routine ones.

Is this genuine Oki stock?

No, these are compatible 43501901 drum units. They carry a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, detailed on the shipping & returns page.

Where will the order ship from, and when can I reach support?

From whichever of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses is closest to you. Support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and more Oki supplies are collected on the Okidata brand page.
