Frequently Asked Questions

Who buys ten drum units in one order?

Whoever maintains a fleet. The 43501901 drum is shared by the B4400, B4400n, B4500, B4500n, B4550, B4550n, B4600 and B4600n, so a facilities or IT buyer responsible for a row of these printers can cover the whole fleet — or a year or more of replacements — with one part number and one order, instead of emergency-buying a drum each time a machine's output degrades.

What does the per-drum price fall to in this pack?

Ten drums for $536.16 works out to about $53.62 a unit. Bought one at a time at $70.25, ten would cost $702.50, so the pack saves roughly $166.34 — more than the price of two single drums. Each unit is rated up to 25,000 pages, making this up to 250,000 pages of drum life in a single delivery.

Is there any downside to holding this much drum stock?

Only storage discipline. Keep the units sealed in their boxes, out of bright light and away from heat — drum surfaces are light-sensitive — and they will wait patiently for their turn. Rotate the stock so the oldest box is used first, and only open a unit when it is going straight into a printer.

When a printer's output goes streaky, how do we confirm the drum is at fault before opening a new one?

Check the fault's shape: lines, spots or faded bands repeating at regular intervals, or a gray haze across the page, signal a worn drum surface. If the machine already has a reasonably fresh toner cartridge and the marks persist in the same positions, it is the 43501901 drum — toner faults fade evenly and disappear with a cartridge change, drum faults do not.

What protection comes with a bulk order like this?

Each unit is a compatible drum covered by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns; the terms are published on the shipping & returns page.

Where does a pack this size ship from, and who supports it?

It ships from our warehouse network in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. The rest of the Oki range is on the Okidata brand page.
