Frequently Asked Questions

What arrives when I order this B4300 cartridge?

One black toner cartridge — part number 42102901 — rated up to 6,000 pages, for $29.80. It is the high-yield cartridge for this printer family, so the box holds a single, full-size unit rather than a smaller standard-fill cartridge.

The name says B4300 — does it also fit my B4300n or B4350?

Yes. The B4300, B4300n and B4350 all take the same 42102901 cartridge; the listing is simply named after the best-known model in the family. Check the number on your current cartridge if you want the final confirmation — it should read 42102901.

How far does 6,000 pages go in practice?

The rating assumes standard 5% page coverage, typical of letters and office documents. At that rate $29.80 works out to about half a cent of toner per page; dense reports and graphics-heavy pages will land below the rating, light text above it.

My prints have started fading — is the cartridge the likely cause?

On a monochrome machine like the B4300, overall fading across the whole page usually means the toner is nearly exhausted, and a fresh 42102901 is the standard fix. Fading on one side only, or repeating marks, points elsewhere — support can help you sort out which before you spend.

Is this an original Oki cartridge?

No, it is a compatible cartridge made to the 42102901 specification. It comes with a one-year warranty and one-year free returns — the policy wording is on the shipping & returns page.

Who do I talk to if I am unsure before ordering?

Our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses. The wider Oki catalogue, including multi-packs of this same cartridge, is on the Okidata brand page.
