Frequently Asked Questions

The S2450 is the fast one in the family. Does speed change how long a cartridge lasts?

The cartridge still yields its rated 17,600 pages — speed changes the calendar, not the page count. The S2450 was built for busy departments, so where a smaller Optra might take a year to empty a cartridge, an S2450 running 4,000 pages a month works through one in about four to five months. Plan your reorder rhythm around your monthly volume, not the printer's age.

What's my toner cost per page on this machine?

One cartridge is $109.43 for 17,600 rated pages, which works out to roughly 0.62 cents per page. For a high-speed departmental printer, that is exceptionally low running cost — a big part of why S2450s are still holding down jobs that newer, thirstier machines would do for several times the toner money.

Which printers does this cartridge actually fit?

This page names the Optra S2450, but the 1382925 is one shared cartridge across the Optra S platform: OPTRA S1250, OPTRA S1620, OPTRA S1650, OPTRA S1855, OPTRA S2420 and OPTRA S2450. If your printer appears on that list, this is its cartridge, regardless of which model name brought you to this listing.

Can a printer this old still justify a place in a busy office?

The S2450's owners think so, and the economics back them up: the machine is long since paid for, parts knowledge is widespread, and toner costs about half a cent per page. Until a mechanical failure takes it out of service, keeping it supplied is the cheapest printing most departments will ever get.

How do I tell a dying cartridge from a dying printer?

Gradual, even fading across the whole page usually means toner; sharp streaks, repeating marks, or jams point at the machine. A repeating defect at regular intervals is a roller or drum issue, not toner. Swapping in a known-good cartridge is the fastest test — if the problem follows the cartridge, it is covered by the warranty below.

If I have an issue, how are returns handled?

Simply: the cartridge carries a one-year warranty and returns are free for one year from purchase. You'll find the step-by-step process on our shipping and returns page, and our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
