Frequently Asked Questions

How long will one cartridge actually last in our Optra S1855?

The 1382925 is rated at 17,600 pages at standard 5% coverage, and the S1855 usually lives a quiet life in a back office or records department. At 800 pages a month — typical for a machine like this — one cartridge covers close to two years of printing. Heavy text documents with dense coverage will shorten that, but for ordinary office pages the rating is a fair planning number.

What does each printed page cost with this cartridge?

At $109.43 for 17,600 rated pages, you are paying roughly 0.62 cents per page for toner. That is remarkably cheap running for a printer of this vintage, and it is the main reason so many Optra S machines are still in service: the hardware was paid off long ago and the pages cost almost nothing.

Will this cartridge fit my printer?

This listing is named for the Optra S1855, but the 1382925 is one cartridge for the whole Optra S platform: OPTRA S1250, OPTRA S1620, OPTRA S1650, OPTRA S1855, OPTRA S2420 and OPTRA S2450. If your machine is any of those models, this is the correct cartridge — the listing title simply calls out one member of the family.

Is toner still available for a printer this old?

Yes. The Optra S series sold in huge numbers and the installed base is still large, so the 1382925 remains in regular production as a compatible cartridge. As long as your S1855 keeps feeding paper, you can keep feeding it toner — there is no need to retire a working printer just because it has some years on it.

Our prints are coming out light. Is the cartridge empty?

Not necessarily. On a machine this age, light output can also come from a worn transfer roller or a dirty print path. Try removing the cartridge and rocking it gently side to side to redistribute the toner, then print a test page; if density returns unevenly and fades again within a few hundred pages, the cartridge is genuinely near the end and it is time to replace it.

What protection do I get with a compatible cartridge?

Every cartridge we sell carries a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year if anything is wrong. Full details are on our shipping and returns page, and our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you need help.
